Dear Sir or Madam,

In the Berlin and Brandenburg Health Care Industries Cluster, we are concerned with the question of how to further develop the region into a leading life science location in the world. And how we can use it to create added value, jobs and prosperity for the region. The reality and health of the people in the region also plays a major role in our vision.

Three central tasks are at the forefront here: letting people participate in medical progress, working together to make urban and rural care future-proof, and strengthening people's trust in the performance of the health industry.

If we succeed, the Berlin-Brandenburg region will become a leading location for cutting-edge medical research and a pioneer of outstanding health care. We also want to focus strongly on digital solutions. The goal here is to use digitization to develop new healthcare solutions and create services that improve local medical care. For a healthy future for the people in the capital region.

With this in mind, I hope you enjoy reading the latest developments and news about our health location Berlin Brandenburg!

Healthcare is one of the most exciting sectors that is expected to fully embrace the development of 3-D printing. Patients and providers alike are looking to a future where the custom fabrication of prostheses, implants, and most likely even whole organs with these additive manufacturing (AM) technologies could become standard. The "Medical goes Additive" network is being set up in Berlin as an interface for building awareness of these technologies, concrete development processes, and policymakers.

Radiology as a Service: buying clinical imaging instead of devices

Expensive equipment, poor use of capacity: a problem familiar to many healthcare providers. After all, large medical technology devices for MRIs and CTs are costly both to acquire and to maintain. Berlin based company Medneo has been offering a solution to this problem since 2011. It operates major medical devices for diagnostic imaging in outpatient and inpatient settings, modular centres, and mobile. This means that medical service providers can flexibly buy the imaging they require. The three founders thus bring the principles of the sharing economy to the healthcare sector.
